What is the GA4 morning data lag?
✅Whenever making changes in Google Tag Manager or in the GA4 console, you should always check that data is being received as expected.
But if you check the data the next morning, you may see a huge drop in traffic for the previous day.
✅This is usually caused by a delay in data being updated in GA4, but it often causes clients to contact me as they are concerned something has gone wrong with their GA4 setup.
It is often, but not always, rectified by lunchtime.
✅If you see this in your GA4 console, check the real-time report and if it is showing the normal number of users on the site in the last 30 minutes, you can probably assume it is the morning data lag.
